"I was lucky enough to have a pot of Helena's magical handmade nursing salve with me whilst being in hospital for two nights after the birth of my beautiful baby boy. It was a total godsend for my hard working nipples especially as my wee man had a "significant tongue tie". Thank you so much Helena for that little pot of help at a hard time! Jen and baby Leburn xx"
Jenna Leburn, Edinburgh
For the on call period I will be working my life around you and your needs, which requires total commitment on my part and a lot of understanding from my husband and three children. I have missed parties, birthdays and Christmas with my family to be at births, therefore my fees reflect this level of commitment.
BY HIRING MY SERVICES YOU ARE INVESTING IN YOUR BIRTH EXPERIENCE AND YOURSELF
When accepting the role of a doula I spend my time thinking about that mother, preparing birth affirmations, researching and providing information when needed, making aromatherapy preparations, stocking my doula basket with things that she might want during her labour, and being available at all times. To understand what being a doula entails and the value I provide please read these articles by Jodi the Doula and Cord Doula Collective Services.
“Helena's support, advice and friendship were invaluable during my pregnancy and labour. When the doctors and midwives were unable to help with my SPD, Helena was able to find me a prenatal yoga class and osteopath in my area that helped alleviate my pain. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a doula.
Her knowledge and warm nature helped me plan exactly what I wanted and needed for my labour. She went far beyond my expectations, her comfort measures and care during my birth were amazing. Her support and encouragement pre-post- and during birth, I will never forget. She will help in anyway she can, whatever may arise in your pregnancy and labour. I can't recommend her highly enough! Having her was truly priceless, not to mention all of the handmade bath soaks & creams in my care package were out of this world!
Having Helena as my doula was such an unbelievably wonderful experience! I'm happy to now call her a friend."
